PATTERN DESCRIPTION

Cropped denim jacket features a central fastener with buttonholes and buttons, raw hem and turn-down collar. Front and back have cut-off yokes with decorative braid at these seams. The jacket sleeves are set-in two-seam type with cuffs. The pattern set includes patch pockets and flaps which are adjusted to the front parts. There are marks on the patterns.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS

We recommend using shape-resistant materials such as denim and cotton.

SEWING INSTRUCTIONS

POCKET

1. Transfer the stitching lines of the fold along the pattern on the patch pocket piece (8). Stitch them from the right side. Press the bow fold.

2. Overlock 3 sides of the pocket — side and bottom allowances, as well as one long cut of the pocket facing (9).

3. Stitch the facing to the pocket along the top edge.Topstitch along the facing at 0.1 cm (1/16’’) from the stitching seam. Press forming a 0.1 cm (1/16’’) edging.

4. Fold the facing over to the wrong side and stitch the sides of the pocket. Then turn the pocket right side out. Press the side seams of the pocket.

5. Mark according to the pattern the place where the pocket will be sewn onto the front part. Sew the pocket first along the bottom and then along the sides by 0.1 cm (1/16’’).

6. Press the flap (7) of the pocket in half on the right side, fold it inside out and stitch the sides. Flip out and press.

7. Mark according to the pattern the place where the flap will be stitched onto the front part. Place it right side down on the right side of the front and stitch. Fold over the pocket and secure with a topstitch. Press.

BACK

1. Sew a decorative ribbon with fringe to the upper edge of the back (3).

2. Sew the yoke (4) to the back, placing the pieces right sides together. Overlock seam allowances and press them onto yoke. Make a double topstitch.

FRONT

1. Sew a decorative ribbon with fringe to the upper edge of the front (1).

2. Place the front yokes (2) on the front (1) facing inward and stitch. Overlock seam allowances and press them onto yoke. Make a double topstitch.

3. Place the front on the back and sew the shoulder and side seams. Overlock seam allowances and press them to the back. Topstitch at 0.1 cm (1/16’’) from the stitching seam.

SLEEVES

1. Press the cut allowance of the front part of the sleeve (10) by 1 cm (3/8”), the elbow (11) by 1 cm (3/8”), and again by 1 cm (3/8”) on the wrong side.

2. Stitch the allowance on the elbow (11) part of the sleeve.

3. Stitch the elbow seam of the sleeve to the point where the cut begins, overlock, and press the seam allowances onto the front of the sleeve.

4. Press the front cut allowance at an additional 1 cm (3/8”). Topstitch the cut allowance.

5. Make a double topstitch along the elbow seam to the cut point.

6. Make a zigzag stitch at the end of the cut.

7. Sew the bottom seam of the sleeve, overlock, and press the seam allowance onto the elbow part of the sleeve.

8. Press the cuff (12) in half on the right side and press one long cut at 1 cm (3/8”) to the wrong side.

9. Fold it to the wrong side and stitch the ends of the cuff. Flip out and press.

10. Sew the cuff into the sleeve from the wrong side. Press the seam allowance onto the cuff.

11. Secure the second edge of the cuff with a topstitch, simultaneously topstitch along all sides.

12. Place the sleeves into the armholes and sew in. Overlock seam allowances and press towards sleeves. Make a double topstitch.

COLLAR

1. Press the edge of the stitching of the top collar (5).

2. Stitch the top collar (5) with the under collar (6) along the ends and the fall line. Flip out, press.

3. Sew the under collar into the neckline from the front side, press the allowances onto the collar.

FACINGS

1. Press the inner edge of the facing (13) at 1 cm (3/8”) wide to the wrong side.

2. Sew the facing to the jacket along the edge line and neckline.

3. Topstitch along the facing at 0.1 cm (1/16’’) from the stitching seam.

4. Stitch the pressed edge of the facing to the front.

5. Stitch the pressed edge of the top collar along the neckline, and also topstitch along the ends and the collar fall line.

6. Make buttonholes and sew buttons.

7. Give the jacket a final press.
